A free virtual pc on the web 4 everyone

I came across this awesome initiative, I wanted to share with everyone!
Imagine starting your browser, pressing a button and running a "VM" on which you can upload, hold and edit all your documents, spreadsheets and what not..FOR FREE!…now you can thanks to a company called g.ho.st inc.

Their vision is a simple but powerful one:
"G.ho.st’s vision is to provide a free fully functional Virtual Computer, on the Web, so that every person in the world can do any computing at any time, any place, on any budget
For anyone who wants their personal computing environment to be mobile the G.ho.st Virtual Computer (VC) provides the first real alternative to Windows – a complete personal computing environment hosted on the Web and accessible from any browser."

Signing up is really easy, enter a few pieces of information after which you’ll receive a mail which verifies your mail address and before you it know, you’re powering on your free virtual pc…
The only thing you need is a browser with a Flash-plugin installed!
 

I took a short test-drive with my new Virtual pc and was amazed how responsive everything was. I was expecting slow and sluggish performance while typing but this was certainly not the case
me typing a letter and begging for more storage

I uploaded a MS Word document containing tables and screenshots of an installation I did a few weeks back.  I opened the Word document and was able to scroll trough this content-rich document at speed that again amazed me!

Is g.ho.st there yet?
Everything is currently beta so no, you can’t hold any high standards to the project yet but the ingredients for a new massive force in Virtual Computing are there. Just have a look at their partners

Conclusion
I am blown away by this concept en hopefully we’re only seeing a glimpse of things to come!
(maybe a smarter url than g.ho.st might help)
