XPNet document says App-V sucks and what does Microsoft say?

A couple of weeks ago, rumors were spreading about a document that compared the major application virtualization players: Citrix XenApp, Altiris SVS Pro, VMware ThinApp and Microsoft App-V in a head-to-head comparison.
Since then lively discussions followed in the blogosphere.  Usually the vendors that are being trashed (read: Microsoft’s App-v) in reports like this are more than happy to…

fill the mud-cannons and launch a counter offensive to kill the claims made in these reports. Which at times can be as amusing as watching an old episode of Matlock!
While some water has flown under the bridge, I still haven’t seen any cannons being fired by Microsoft regarding this report. So last night I decided to try and get in touch with the App-V Team for a response.
My sense is that the report does have some priority within Microsoft. I commend the App-V team for responding to my request within 30-40 minutes!
The answer I got (Yes, I did get an answer!) was along the lines that Microsoft is currently reviewing the results and comments on the report will be issued soon. (no specific timeframe mentioned).
I hope that the XPNet document will help in the sense that true independent people from the community (Virtual Reality Check / Brian Madden ??) will find this mystique surrounding Application Virtualization performance amusing and will take on the new challenge of bringing some real world experience measurements into the arena.
