Searching in Files without extension in Windows 2003
Yep, this is turned off by default. To enable it, change or add this key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\ContentIndex]
“FilterFilesWithUnknownExtensions”=dword:00000001
